"He was so shy and so cute... And his hair, it smelled like watermelon. I couldn't get enough of it. I spent the whole year secretly sniffing watermelon, and wondering if I was ever going to get my kiss." -- Juli Baker making it obvious that she likes Bryce Loski
Bryce Loski is one of the main fictional characters in the book "Flipped". Ever since he moved into a neighborhood, a fellow neighbor named Juli Baker has had a crush on him. She stalks him for a long time, determined to kiss him. Later, it's on the flip side; he likes her and she has finally thought to get him out of her life but that does change later on at the end of the book when he finally finds a way to show his true feelings. Bryce is played by Callan McAuliffe and Ryan Ketzner.
Early Life Edit
Growing up, Bryce lives with his mother, Patsy Loski, his father, Steven (Known as Rick, in the book) Loski, and his sister, Lynetta. Bryce is initially not very fond of Juli, but she keeps on following him, and he ultimately attempts to get her out of his hair by dating Juli's arch-rival, Shelly Stalls. This plan works temporarily, but Shelly and Bryce break up after a week.
Juli Baker Edit
Juli falls in love with Bryce immediately after he and his family move into the neighborhood, but he's shy and doesn't feel the same way about her. At one point in the film, she even says that she thinks he's cute. Juli's romantic interest in Bryce may be because of his smile, how handsome he is, or his dazzling eyes. Over time, however, he begins to develop feelings for her, although she is beginning to question her feelings for him. In the end, Bryce shows Juli how he feels about her by planting a sycamore tree in her front yard. This convinces Juli that he cares for her. From then on, Juli doesn't simply like Bryce, she loves him.
